Design Streak Logo
This logo design was chosen by members of Design Streak Studio out of a lineup of fellow student entries to advertise the studio’s work during the fall/winter season of 2024 for Design Streak’s biannual logo redesign project. This task demanded the creation of a unique design concept to reflect the studio’s core values while maintaining the original design’s silhouette.
My design for this assignment featured the visual motif of a star nested inside a nebula to represent the creative and professional development opportunities the studio and its services offer to members. I chose to place the star in the center of the composition to convey the central role that student interns are expected to play in the studio. The celestial nebula swirls into the composition from above and below, symbolizing the support and structure that the creative director and clients provide as student members grow into professionals. The star appears in shades of yellow, conveying the optimism and vitality of creativity while hues of purple and pink decorate the nebula, evoking the feelings of ambition and encouragement instilled in students within the program.

Taking Inspiration
The goal for this design was to create something new and eye-catching based on the silhouette of the original Design Streak logo. The only requirements were to keep the three segments of the logo visually separate and to retain the general “D” shape.

Process
To achieve a concise, yet visually intriguing design, I spent quite a bit of time sketching and referencing other logo designs.
The final design came as a result of almost one hundred different concept sketches varying in theme, imagery, and structure.
Final Design
My final concept for this logo was a nebula design, to convey to student members and clients alike that Design Streak Studio is an environment that offers young graphic designers a place to grow and develop into shining, motivated professionals.
